Though the makers are not openly talking about it, plans for Life In A Metro 2 are underway and the project has already become one of the most-talked-about sequels in Bollywood. Just like its predecessor, Life In A Metro (2007), its sequel is also going to be an ensemble cast, urban relationship drama. Over the last few months, we have heard many stories about several actors joining forces with filmmaker Anurag Basu for the sequel. But today we are going to talk about the actress who has reportedly bid adieu to the much-sought-after project. According to reports, Parineeti Chopra, who was onboard to play a significant character in the film, has walked out of the project due to a clash of shooting dates with her forthcoming period drama Kesari, also starring Akshay Kumar.
The actress, who was recently seen in Namaste England (2018) opposite Arjun Kapoor, was reportedly set to shoot Jabariya Jodi, Kesari and Life In A Metro 2 back-to-back. However, when a sudden fire broke on the sets of Kesari, the makers had to put the project on hold for some time. But now the team is ready to shoot the remaining portion which may require around 15 days to wrap. “The film needs 15 more days of shooting with Akshay and the rest of the cast. And a set has to be prepared for that. We could not do anything during the monsoons because it is an outdoor schedule, and we were waiting for a combination of dates when Akshay and the film’s other actors would be available.”, a source revealed.
Since it is nearly impossible for Parineeti Chopra to shoot three films simultaneously, she has decided to drop Life In A Metro sequel. The makers have begun their hunt for the actress who could replace her in the movie.
Talking about the other cast members of the film, it reportedly has Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Taapsee Pannu and Sidharth Malhotra, among others, in its cast.
