Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh set the internet on fire after announcing their much-awaited wedding on Twitter on Sunday. Though they did reveal their wedding dates (14-15 November) in their official note, there was no mention of the place the high-profile couple is getting hitched at. However, if reports are to be believed, Deepika and Ranveer will walk down the aisle at Lake Como in Italy. Both will fly from Mumbai on November 10, 2018.
First, there will be a sangeet ceremony set to take place on November 13 followed by the wedding. We hear that the couple is going to have two separate wedding ceremonies as both belong to different communities and want to follow the rituals of their faith. “Since Deepika is a South Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities. A South Indian wedding has been planned for November 14, complete with Kannadiga rituals. The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of a North Indian wedding,” a source says.
After exchanging their wedding vows, Ranveer and Deepika will throw a lavish party on November 15, 2018. Talking about the guest list, we hear that the couple has invited only people from Bollywood. Deepika has reportedly invited Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. For the uninitiated, the actress made her acting debut with the SRK starrer Om Shanti Om (2007) which was helmed by Farah Khan. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has mentored the couple and directed three immensely successful films with them, is also on the guest list. Ranveer Singh has invited Aditya Chopra who launched him with Band Baja Baaraat in 2010.
After marrying in Italy, the couple will return to Mumbai and host a grand reception for their friends from Bollywood. “The two will host a reception at Grand Hyatt on December 1. As their wedding is an intimate affair, the reception will be a grand one where they will invite their Bollywood friends,” a source says.
