Janhvi Kapoor, who started her acting career with Karan Johar’s Dhadak (2018), has been signed on for her third film with Dharma Productions. According to reports, after finalizing her for his next directorial venture Takht, Karan has locked the newcomer for his upcoming production offering Rannbhoomi which will be helmed by Shashank Khaitan. If reports are indeed true, Janhvi will romance Varun Dhawan in the war period drama. The film will also reunite her with director Shashank Khaitan after Dhadak.
“Shashank and Karan Johar wanted a new Jodi for the film. They felt Janhvi would be a perfect fit,” a well-placed source reveals. When director Shashank was quizzed about the same, he confirmed that Varun is definitely onboard, but he is still working on the script and is not sure about the entire casting as of now.
The source goes on to add that Janhvi Kapoor is indeed a part of the big-ticket movie. She will be seen in a completely different avatar in it. The newcomer will undergo extensive training as well as she is required to perform some stunts in the flick.
Talking about as to when the film will start rolling, we hear that the makers are planning to begin shoot in April or May next year. Janhvi is expected to shoot for Rannbhoomi months before she starts working on Takht which mounts the shooting floor in August 2019. Apart from Takht and Rannbhoomi, there is one more film by Dharma Productions Janhvi is being considered for. It is based on the life of the first woman IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena who evacuated injured soldiers from Kargil in 1999. More details are awaited.
