Ajay Devgn’s ambitious film Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior has a new entrant in its ensemble cast. Reportedly, actress Kajol has come onboard to play an important character in her husband’s film which is being made on a lavish scale. The couple, who has previously worked together on such films as Gundaraj (1995), Hulchul (1995), Ishq (1997), Pyar To Hona Hi Tha (1998), Dil Kya Kare (1999), Raju Chacha (2000), U Me Aur Hum (2008), Toonpur Ka Superrhero (2010), is reteaming after a huge gap of eight years.
As reported by a popular daily, Kajol started shooting for Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior from yesterday in Mumbai. “Kajol has begun shooting in Mumbai from yesterday. When she was approached for the film, she felt it’s the perfect script for her since she already has a strong Marathi base,” a close source said. Though we do not know much about her role in the film, from what we hear she is playing a pillar of strength to Ajay Devgn’s character as his wife.
“Kajol and Ajay had been wanting to do a film for a long time. They kept getting fan mail and messages to reunite on screen. So, when Om was thinking of a heroine for the part, he immediately asked Ajay to bounce the idea off to Kajol,” the source goes on to add.
Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior stars Ajay Devgn in the title role. Actor Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist in the movie. Speculations are rife that superstar Salman Khan will also essay a key role in the historical drama. Now with Kajol coming onboard to play an important role, the cast of the movie has become quite star-studded.
The film, made under the banners of Ajay Devgn Films and T-Series Films, is being helmed by Om Raut.
