Taking a strong stand against sexual harassment at workplace, Fox Star Studios has decided to terminate the services of Mukesh Chhabra after several women levelled sexual harassment allegations against him. Chhabra, who is one of the leading casting directors in Bollywood having worked on some of the biggest projects in the past few years, was all set to make his directorial debut with Fox Star Studios’ forthcoming film Kizzie Aur Manny, which is an official remake of American romantic tragedy film The Fault in Our Stars (2014).
In its statement, Fox Star India said, “As a responsible organization, Star India takes any allegation of sexual harassment of women at workplace very seriously hence Fox Star Studios has suspended the services of Mukesh Chabbra, director of our film, Kizzie Aur Manny, which is under productions, till the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of M/s Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company concludes its inquiry into the allegations against him.”
Kizzie Aur Manny is headlined by Chhabra’s favourite Sushant Singh Rajput. Sanjana Sanghi plays the female lead in the film. Surprisingly, Sushant Singh Rajput has also been accused of harassing his co-star Sanjana Sanghi on the set of the movie. However, the actor has rubbished all such reports as baseless. Sanghi has also not said anything about the incident publically.
Fox Star Studios is yet to announce the name of the new director to helm the project. Kizzie Aur Manny is scheduled to release next year.
