After the huge success of their first collaboration PadMan (2018), which went on to rake in a lot of moolah at the cash counter earlier this year, Akshay Kumar and filmmaker R. Balki may reunite once again. Just like their previous film, their next is also said to be a social drama. If reports are to be believed, the movie has been titled, Mahila Mandal. Sounds interesting. Isn’t it?

“The film is being called Mahila Mandal. In keeping with its title, it revolves around women. Nonetheless, the role that Akshay plays is of immense significance,” a well-placed source reveals to a daily.

A couple of days ago, there were reports that Kumar and Balki were joining hands for a film based on women scientists who worked on India’s Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) in 2014. If reports are true, Mahila Mandal is the same project. We also hear that Vidya Balan, Nimrat Kaur and several other actresses have been approached to play important characters in the movie. Some of them have already agreed to be part of the flick.

It looks like Akshay Kumar is unable to resist the charm of social drama movies. In the past few years, we have seen him in many successful social dramas such as Airlift (2016), Jolly LLB 2 (2017), Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017) and PadMan. We hope Mahila Mandal too works well for him.

Meanwhile, the superstar is presently shooting for his next Housefull 4. As the title of the film suggests itself, it is the fourth instalment of the Housefull (2010) series. His next release will be Kesari, which is being produced by Dharma Productions and stars Parineeti Chopra as the female lead. Kumar is also a part of Dharma Productions’ Good News, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh.
