Aditya Roy Kapur set to return to TV after a decade

Not many people know that actor Aditya Roy Kapur, who made his Bollywood debut with Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s London Dreams in 2009, started his career with television. He used to be a popular VJ on music channel Channel V India before taking a dive into Hindi films. If various reports doing the rounds are to be believed, Kapur is set to return to his roots again. Reportedly, the actor has given his nod to host an adventure reality show which is expected to hit the floor by the year-end. The untitled show will be shot across the country.

Spilling some more details on the same, a source close to the development reveals, “Aditya is into fitness and adventure sports and has a connect with the younger audience, which the show makers were looking for. The production house recently approached him with a show that has a new format and after several rounds of meetings, Aditya gave his nod.”

Talking about Aditya Roy Kapur’s Bollywood projects, the heartthrob is currently filming for Karan Johar’s much-awaited period drama Kalank. Helmed by 2 States (2014) fame Abhishek Verman, the high-profile movie also stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Kunal Khemu, and Sonakshi Sinha in its ensemble cast. Apart from Kalank, Kapur has Mahesh Bhatt’s comeback directorial Sadak 2 in his pocket. As the title of the film suggests itself, it is a sequel to the 1991 musical hit Sadak. Besides Aditya Roy Kapur, the sequel also stars Alia Bhatt alongside the original actors Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. The film is expected to roll in November.

The source adds that Kapur will sign the television show on the dotted lines only after his dates for Sadak 2 are locked.
