Ever since making her debut with Karan Johar’s 2012 movie Student Of The Year, Alia Bhatt has not starred in any biopic. However, if fresh reports are to be believed, the versatile actress will very soon add a biopic to her repertoire. Rumours are rife in Bollywood that filmmaker Karan Johar is planning a digital series based on the controversial life of Baba Rajneesh, also known as the Osho. The ace director-producer is keen to have his favourite Alia Bhatt in the series. The actress, who was recently seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi (2018), might play the role of Ma Anand Sheela in the biopic.
According to reports, Johar wants to produce the biopic on a huge scale, and hence he has teamed up with Aamir Khan and Shakun Batra. Director Ayan Mukerji, who is presently shooting for his much-ambitious film Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt, may also join the forces with these three.
“Alia is comfortable working with Ayan, but then it will be a call that both Karan and Aamir (Khan) will need to make. Shakun has been doing some work on the project, which is slated to be a biopic on the life of Osho and Alia’s name has been taken in whispers even around Aamir Khan and Karan Johar with regards to this project,” a source reveals.
The source goes on to add, “Not long ago, The Osho International Foundation has sent a notice stating that “use of any intellectual property rights owned by the foundation requires prior authorisation from the foundation. Various copyrighted books and audio-video recordings of Osho including Autobiography of a Spiritually Incorrect Mystic and Glimpses of Golden Childhood etc cannot be used by anyone without authorisation.”
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is presently shooting for Kalank and Brahmastra. She will next be seen in Gully Boy, slated to release in February, 2019.
