Sidharth Malhotra, who made his acting debut with Dharma Productions’ college romance drama Student Of The Year (2012), is going through a not-so-good period in his professional life as many of his films released in the past couple of years have failed to set the cash registers jingling at the ticket window. But things might take a positive turn for the young heartthrob very soon if reports are to be believed.
According to fresh reports, Malhotra has been approached by none other than acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for his next directorial venture. Though nothing much is known about the project at the moment, some reports suggest that Ali has met Sidharth for the script narration. The actor has reportedly liked the script but is yet to sign the movie on the dotted line.
Talking about the same, a source close to the development discloses to a premiere entertainment magazine, “Soon after Imtiaz wrote the script, he knew he wanted Sidharth to play the character in his film. He then met and narrated the story to Sid. If things work out, they will start the project soon.”
Last seen in Neeraj Pandey’s much-publicized espionage thriller Aiyaary (2018), Sidharth is presently busy with the shooting of his next movie, titled Jabariya Jodi. The film, produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures, reunites the actor with his Hasee Toh Phasee (2014) co-star Parineeti Chopra after a gap of four years.
Besides Jabariya Jodi, Malhotra also has Dharma Productions’ Shershah in his pocket. The film is a biopic based on the life of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra who lost his life saving us countrymen from enemies at the border. The work on the project is still in the initial stage. It might begin production earlier next year.
