The ensemble star cast of an upcoming Hindi film, which is being said to be a sequel to the 2007 movie Life In A… Metro, has a new addition. According to reports, actor Aditya Roy Kapur, who was last seen in Shaad Ali’s OK Jaanu (2017), has come on board to play one of the male leads in the anthology flick.
Just like Life In A… Metro, its sequel is also expected to feature over half a dozen actors in its cast. Besides Aditya Roy Kapur, other names that are doing the rounds include Rajkummar Rao, Taapsee Pannu, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra, among others. Reportedly, Kapur might be paired opposite Taapsee Pannu in the movie. Recently, there were reports that Pannu has been replaced by Fatima Sana Shaikh in the movie, but from what hear, both the actresses are part of the sequel, albeit for different stories.
Life In A… Metro 2 will be directed by ace filmmaker Anurag Basu who also helmed its predecessor over a decade ago. Bhushan Kumar is bankrolling the project under the banner of T-Series Films. The project is expected to take off in the first half of 2019.
Meanwhile, Aditya Roy Kapur is presently shooting for yet another multi-starrer Kalank. Produced by Karan Johar and directed by Abhishek Verman for Dharma Productions, the period drama also features Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Varun Dhawan in its ensemble cast. After wrapping up Kalank, he will move on to shoot Sadak 2, which is a sequel to the 1991 musical hit Sadak. The film marks the comeback of Mahesh Bhatt to direction after two decades. Besides Kapur, Sadak 2 also stars Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles.
