After becoming a household name with the thunderous success of Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), Prabhas started receiving a number of offers not only from the South Indian film industry but Bollywood also. Though the superstar is yet to sign an out-and-out Bollywood film, he is starring in a couple of multilingual movies which are simultaneously being shot in Hindi as well.
The latest we hear that the megastar has agreed to topline Telugu director Radha Krishna Kumar’s untitled Bollywood debut. Actress Pooja Hedge, who made her Hindi film debut with Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama Mohenjo Daro (2016), has been roped in to play the female lead in the flick which is set to begin production in October this year. The movie is being made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
“Both Prabhas and Pooja are flying off to Europe this week to kick-start the shoot with a long schedule. They have met a couple of times in the last few months and will be filming some interesting action and musical sequences. Radha Krishna and his team have done an extensive recce in Europe and are in the last stage of pre-production,” a well-placed source lets on.
Talking to a tabloid, Pooja Hegde had earlier said, “I knew he was already on board when the makers approached me for this film. It has a beautiful role for me.”
Meanwhile, Prabhas is presently shooting for filmmaker Sujeeth Reddy’s much-awaited Hindi-Telugu bilingual Saaho. The movie, which is being shot on a lavish scale with a budget running into billions, also features Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor. The action entertainer stars Neil Nitin Mukesh as the lead antagonist. Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, and Mandira Bedi will be seen in supporting roles. The film has been extensively shot in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Romania and Europe.
Saaho is slated to release in the first half of 2019.
