Jassie Gill, whose popularity was restricted just to Punjabi music and film industry a few months ago, broke onto the national scene with the release of his debut flick, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi (2018), wherein he played a pivotal part opposite Sonakshi Sinha. His performance in the comic-caper was loved by critics and audiences alike. What was even great that he had signed his second film days before the release of his debut vehicle. Yes, after the moderate success of Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, Jassie Gill will next be seen in popular filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s third directorial venture, Panga. The Punjabi singer-turned-actor will play the lead role opposite three times National award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut in the film which also stars Neena Gupta, Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi.
Apart from Bollywood, the singer-actor has a number of projects coming up in his regional Punjabi film industry as well. Managing work at two different locations is not easy, but Jassie is doing his next to manage everything like a pro. Recently, he was seen in Mumbai at the residence of his director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, which led to the speculations that the actor has started preparations for his part in Panga.
Sources close to Gill reveal, “The actor has already started prepping for his character, which is something he is excitedly looking forward to before he starts shooting for the film”. While Gill was in Mumbai for a few days, he had a brief interaction with the filmmaker over his character and has now started prepping up for the same, sources say.
Panga, to be bankrolled by Fox Star Studios, is set to start rolling by the end of the year. The film will hit the silver screen next year.
