Netflix announces season 2 of Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer digital series ‘Sacred Games’


    Though somewhere we all knew that there would be a season 2 of India’s first Netflix original series, Sacred Games, the news has been confirmed officially. Fans’ joy knew no bound when the second season was officially announced by the makers earlier today. Yes, one of the most popular original digital series on streaming media giant Netflix is ready for a second season.

    Just like the previous part, Sacred Games 2 will also revolve around Saif Ali Khan’s character Sartaj Singh. Talking about the second season and its plotline, Netflix India said in its official statement, “The second season picks up from Sartaj Singh pursuing his relentless battle of saving the city and Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) facing bigger challenges to retain his position as the legendary kingpin of Mumbai. The intriguing Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi), introduced in season one as Gaitonde’s third father, plays a pivotal role in unfolding a chain of events that shape the next season”.

    Sacred Games is based on Vikram Batra’s popular novel of the same name. The first season of the series, which premiered a couple of months ago, received an overwhelming response not only from Indian audiences, but international audiences also. After the first season came to an end, there were always speculations about season 2 of the series.

    The shooting for the second season of Sacred Games is expected to begin by the end of the year. Besides Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, several other characters will also be seen in the new season. It will be really interesting to see if the second season manages to replicate the stupendous success of the first one.
