Superstar Salman Khan, who received oodles of love for playing the quirky character of Chulbul Pandey in blockbuster movies Dabangg (2010) and Dabangg 2 (2012), will soon return to woo the audience once again with the third instalment of the franchise, Dabangg 3. The project has been in news for more than 2 years now, but it could not start rolling for one or the other reason. However, now the makers are finally gearing up to take it to the shooting floor at the beginning of 2019.
Khan, who is currently shooting for his next Bharat, has announced that he will commence work on brother Arbaaz Khan’s Dabangg 3 right after wrapping up the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial. According to sources, Bharat is expected to complete its shoot in January next year, and the third instalment of Dabangg will mount the shooting floor immediately after. Prabhudheva, who directed Salman in the superhit film Wanted (2009), is calling the shots for Dabangg 3.
On Monday, Dabangg clocked 8 years of its release. On the special occasion, Salman and the leading lady of the franchise, Sonakshi Sinha, announced that they will meet the audience with the third part of the series next year. “Today, Dabangg completes 8 years. Thank you for all the appreciation and love from Rajjo and Chulbul Pandey. See you in Dabangg 3 next year,” Salman wrote on social media.
Sonakshi, who has been an integral part of the franchise, also wrote, “Eight years of Dabangg, eight years of Chulbul and Rajjo, eight years of me doing what I love the most! Thank you, Salman, Arbaaz, Abhinav for making me realise my calling… see you in Dabangg 3 next year!”
Besides Bharat and Dabangg 3, Salman Khan has a long list of upcoming projects, including Kick 2, a dance-based film with Remo D’souza, and an untitled movie with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
