Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is yet to make her debut, but her popularity is such among the filmmakers of Bollywood that she has emerged as one of the most sought after newcomers in B-town. Sara will be making her acting debut with Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty’s joint production venture Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh in the role of a cop. Interestingly, her debut vehicle was supposed to be filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor’s romantic drama Kedarnath with Sushant Singh Rajput. Unfortunately, the film caught itself in a series of financial and legal issues that its shoot kept being delayed, again and again, giving Simmba a chance to hit screen first.
The latest we hear that Sara Ali Khan has been approached by David Dhawan to star in the upcoming No.1 series film with Varun Dhawan. As we all know that the No. 1 series used to be a rage back in the 90s, but after the much-publicised fall-out between director David Dhawan and Govinda, it sort of went kaput. But now, David has decided to revive the serried with son Varun Dhawan in the lead role.
The untitled film will mark the first production by David Dhawan, Rohit Dhawan and Varun Dhawan who are set to launch their production house very soon. Talking more about the film, a source revealed to a national daily, “It’s a family banner that they plan to launch and is in the initial stages of planning. It will be headed by David and the first film will be a commercial action-comedy.”
Meanwhile, Sara is currently busy with Simmba, which hits the silver screen on 28th December 2018. An official announcement on the film and her role in it will be awaited.
