One of Dharma Productions’ upcoming projects, Good News, which was recently announced by filmmaker Karan Johar on social media, is all set to mount the shooting floor in the month of December. The film stars an ensemble cast including superstar Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh. Reportedly, Good News revolves around a couple who is waiting for the delivery of their first child.
According to reports, the team will commence the first schedule of the film in Punjab with Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. As far as Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan are concerned, the duo will join the team a little later on. Kumar is presently shooting for some other movies. Once he wraps them up, he will start filming for Good News.
Good News is highly awaited by fans as it brings Kareena Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar together after a gap of almost a decade. The last film where they played the lead couple was the Shabbir Khan-directed Kambakkht Ishq in 2009. Kareena, however, did a cameo in Kumar’s 2015 film Gabbar Is Back.
To be directed by debutant filmmaker Raj Mehta, who has previously assisted hit filmmaker Shashank Khaitan on such successful Dharma movies as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania(2014), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) and Dhadak (2018), Good News comes out on 19th July 2019.
Apart from Good News, Dharma Productions is coming up with over a dozen movies in the next two years. The upcoming titles of the production house include Kalank, Kesari, Brahmastra, Takht, Rannbhoomi, Simmba, Drive, Student Of The Year 2, and a biopic on Kargil martyr Vikram Batra.
