Filmmaker Amar Kaushik’s upcoming film ‘Stree’ is hours away from its theatrical release, but reports about his next project have already started surfacing in media. According to reports, the director will commence work on his new film ‘Chor Nikalke Bhaaga’ right after the release of ‘Stree’. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, who played the lead in ‘Stree’, have reportedly been cast to headline ‘Chor Nikalke Bhaaga’ as well.
Reportedly, Kaushik wanted to make ‘Chor Nikalke Bhaaga’ even before he started work on ‘Stree’. He had even initiated talks with John Abraham and Rajkummar Rao for the same. However, things did not fall in to place and he had to put the project on hold. But with Shraddha coming onboard as the female lead, the project has been revived yet again.
When asked about the project, Kaushik confirmed Rao’s presence in it. However, he did not give any hint about Shraddha being a part of the movie. “It won’t be my immediate next. Raj is the only person who has been retained because he liked the story and is keen on doing it. Also, after working with him on ‘Stree’, I have become quite comfortable with him,” the director told a leading daily.
There were rumours that Tamannaah Bhatia was also approached to play the female lead in ‘Chor Nikalke Bhaaga’. However, the director has denied it, saying, “Tamannaah was never offered the film. We had John on board, but he isn’t doing the movie anymore. Initially, I had approached John for the main role but when he read the script, he wanted to do the other role (of a cop) and also wanted to produce it. That’s when Raj was roped in to play the lead.”
‘Stree’ is set to release on 31st August.
