As has been the trend in Bollywood that whenever a movie strikes gold at the box-office, the first thing its maker do it to plan a sequel. The same is going to happen with John Abraham’s latest action entertainer ‘Satyamev Jayate’ (2018). Released on Independence Day, the film is doing phenomenal business at the ticket window, and the rapturous success of the movie, despite a box-office clash with Akshay Kumar’s much bigger film ‘Gold’ (2018), has motivated the makers to roll out its sequel. According to reports, there are already plans underway for a sequel to the John Milap Zaveri directorial which starred John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee in lead roles.

So, will John Abraham return to headline the second instalment of the movie despite his character being killed in the original film? Well, it is too early to say anything, but from what we hear the hunky star will an appearance in the film some way or the other. “John will definitely feature in the sequel to ‘Satyameva Jayate’. After all, he was one of the pillars of the film. The makers may take a cue from ‘Vaastav’ (1999), where Sanjay Dutt’s character Raghu was killed by his mother, but the actor was then seen as Raghu’s son in the sequel ‘Hathyar’ (2002). Right now, the discussions are at a nascent stage. They have bounced the idea of a sequel off John, who has shown interest. The team is keeping it under wraps as they want to find the right script first. They will make an announcement when the time is right.”

When co-producer Bhushan Kumar was contacted, he confirmed the developments. “We will plan a sequel, for sure. We are currently looking at scripts. I am making four films with Milap, but the only thing I want to do right now is sending him for a long holiday as he has worked hard on the movie,” said the T-series head honcho.

Meanwhile, ‘Satyamev Jayate’ has done a business of over Rs. 80 crores at the domestic box-office. If it maintains its pace over this weekend, it will surely touch the Rs. 100 crore club in coming days.
