One of the most successful actor-director duos of Bollywood, Kartik Aaryan and Luv Ranjan, has reportedly fallen out due to a series of issues. Aaryan, who is currently being hailed as one of the most sought-after actors from the current crop, started his acting career with Ranjan’s sleeper hit film ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ (2011) before he hit the big league with his recent blockbuster bromance drama ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ (2018). According to a report published on an Indian daily, the rift between the actor and director is due to Kartik Aaryan feeling restricted by Ranjan.
“Kartik, apparently, was feeling too restricted at having to seek Luv’s go-ahead for every project he wanted to take on, not just when it came to movies but even brand endorsements. Initially, he felt that Luv was being concerned and cautious as a mentor and he didn’t want his protégé to suddenly lose the equity they had built for him over the years. However, over a period of time, the actor reportedly began to feel that certain things would have turned out better if he had followed his instincts and not Luv’s point of view,” reveals a source. “Kartik now reportedly routes everything through the agency handling his work, specifically his manager, adds the source.
Kartik Aaryan is currently shooting for producer Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Lukka Chuppi’ opposite Kriti Sanon. Ranjan, on the other hand, is producing an untitled film, starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh. His next directorial will be with Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor. The film is yet untitled.
