There is no denying the fact that digital has captured the imagination of every player in showbiz. From some of the biggest production houses to new start-ups, everyone is trying to create content for the digital medium and reach out to a wider audience. Not just production houses, some of the biggest stars of television and films are showing interest in featuring in web-series, especially after the thunderous success of Karan Johar’s ‘Lust Stories’ (2018) and Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwani’s ‘Sacred Games’ (2018). Be it Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui or Rajkummar Rao, every actor is trying to explore the medium and be a part of it. The latest we hear that 1990’s sensation Karisma Kapoor might also make her digital debut very soon.
Yes, you heard that right! According to reports, Karisma is ready to make a comeback to acting. She has reportedly chosen to make a comeback with a digital series instead of a movie. If the buzz in the industry circle is anything to go by, the gorgeous actress has signed a deal with Ekta Kapoor’s digital venture, Alt Balaji, which is known to produce a number of successful web-shows in the past few years, including Rajkummar Rao’s much-acclaimed ‘Bose: Dead Or Alive’ (2017). “Karisma has signed a deal with Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji. She is doing a web series for them. They have locked the script and dates, but everything is being kept under wraps till the big announcement,” a source reveals.
Karisma Kapoor, who has a number of hits to her credit, was last seen on the silver screen in Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ in 2012. Also starring Rajneesh Duggal, the film was not successful at the box-office.
