While Priyanka Chopra won laurels for her outstanding performances in Hollywood ventures including her much-loved American television series ‘Quantico’, fans back home in India have been waiting to see her in a Hindi movie for more than two years now, as the actress was last seen in Prakash Jha’s 2016 cop drama ‘Jai Gangaajal’. Exciting news for fans is that the global star has finally started shooting for her first Bollywood film in two years. Yes, Priyanka Chopra, who will next be seen in filmmaker Shonali Bose’s upcoming film, commenced shooting for the same today. Besides her, the movie also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim in lead roles. To be produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapoor, the movie is based on a real-life story.

Talking about the film, PC said in an official statement, “I look forward to diving into this film…it’s very special to me. As soon I read it, I knew I had to be a part of telling this story, so I’m wearing two hats on this one… as an actor and as a co-producer. In both aspects, I am equally excited to work with the amazing team of actors and technicians we have on board. Shonali is a formidable filmmaker and I can’t wait to see this story unfold in her expertise. I’m looking forward to working with Farhan, Ronnie and Sid again. All in all, it’s a great homecoming.”

After ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ (2015), Farhan and Priyanka are working again. The actor-filmmaker says he is looking forward to working with the talented actress again. “I am happy to be a part of Shonali’s next. It is a beautiful story and I am looking forward to working with Priyanka again and collaborating with Ronnie and Sid.”

Actress Zaira Wasim, who was last seen in Aamir Khan’s ‘Secret Superstar’ (2017), is also excited about working with Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. “I am thrilled to be a part of this film. I immediately fell in love with the story when Sid and Shonali narrated it to me. It is a character that touched my heart and I am honoured to be playing this role. I am looking forward to working with Farhan and Priyanka.”

The yet-to-be-titled project is expected to release in the second quarter of 2019.
