Aishwarya Rai Bachchan seems ready to face camera more often. Her new film ‘Fanney Khan’ has just arrived in cinemas and people are raving about her sizzling avatar and full-blooded performance in it. After ‘Fanney Khan’, Aish will reteam with husband Abhishek Bachchan on-screen after 9 years for Phantom Films ‘Gulab Jamun’. After working in Bollywood for over two decades and starring in some brilliant films like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ (1999), ‘Devdas’ (2002) and ‘Dhoom 2’ (2006), to name a few, Aishwarya now wants to go behind the camera and add a new feather to her cap by turning director in future. Yes, Aish wants to direct films in coming years.
Talking about her interest in calling the shots, the former beauty queen reveals to a popular tabloid, “Direction does interest me. In a few years from now, I will surely turn director. All my directors and co-stars have teased me about it. Even AB (Abhishek Bachchan]) tells me that I should explore it.”
Aishwarya goes on to add that direction won’t be a pastime for her. She will get into it whole-heartedly. “When I do direct, I will throw myself whole-heartedly in it. It will never be a fly-by-night commitment for me, as my work consumes me completely. Even though I had only four scenes in ‘Fanney Khan’, I would have endless talks with Atul Manjrekar to understand them fully.”
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has always given her hundred per cent to each and everything that she does in her life. Be it winning the coveted Miss World crown or venturing into the movies, she knows how to deal with things. We are hopeful that her inning as a director won’t disappoint her fans either.
