Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film ‘Dhadak’, which hit the big screen on 20th July, has left the cash registers jingling at the box-office. The audience and critics have praised the debutante who is the elder daughter of acting great Sridevi and filmmaker Boney Kapoor. Many people are saying the young actress reminds them of her mother Sridevi. Looks like the success of the film at the box-office has motivated Janhvi Kapoor’s younger sister Khushi Kapoor to follow the suit and join films. Yes, Khushi will also enter Bollywood one day or the other, and the news has been confirmed by none other than father Boney Kapoor.
Talking to an entertainment portal, Kapoor said that Khushi is inclined towards acting. “I wouldn’t say that I motivated Janhvi. I encouraged her to let her do what she wants. Why curb someone’s natural instincts? Like for one, I didn’t know until Salman (Khan) told me that Arjun has it in him to become an actor. On the other hand, my eldest child, Anshula is extremely academically inclined. And Khushi first wanted to become a model, but has now shifted her focus to becoming an actress,” said the filmmaker.
While Janhvi has been launched by filmmaker Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, it will be interesting to see who launches Khushi Kapoor in Bollywood. Will KJo come forward once again?
Meanwhile, ‘Dhadak’ is doing exceptional business at the cash counter. The movie, which opened with ₹ 8.71 crores on 20th July, is expected to close out its first week at an impressive figure of approximately ₹ 50 crore, which is incredible for a movie starring newcomers. Also featuring Ishaan Khatter in the lead role, ‘Dhadak’ is directed by Shashank Khaitan.
