Actor Saif Ali Khan, who is currently basking in the success of his recently premiered Netflix India Original ‘Sacred Games’ (2018), will next be seen in producer Aanand L Rai’s forthcoming production venture ‘Hunter’, which is being helmed by ‘NH 10’ (2015) fame Navdeep Singh. Saif plays an intense character in the movie and hence he is sporting long hair and bushy beard these days. The actor, who is quite excited about the project, says that he loves playing dark and edgy characters on screen.
Talking about what drew him towards ‘Hunter’, the actor said, “When Navdeep came to me with the script, I immediately was drawn towards the subject. It’s a difficult and challenging role. Also, it’s my most ambitious project till date. I don’t think I have been part of a film that has been made on this scale. It’s about a fight between two brothers and my character, who is almost like an animal, fights for his rights.”
Saif reveals that he plays a Naga Sadhu in the movie and that is why he is sporting long hair and beard these days. “I play a Naga Sadhu, so I’ve been growing my hair and beard. As the story is set against a war backdrop, I had to learn sword fighting and different forms of action. There’s a lot of post-production and VFX work involved in this project as it will have many war sequences.”
Though Saif Ali Khan’s debut digital series ‘Sacred Games’ is winning hearts all over the world, his last few movies such as ‘Chef’ (2017) and ‘Kaalakaandi’ (2018) did not perform well at the ticket window, denting his brand image in the industry. We hope he strikes back once again with his next movie ‘Hunter’.
