Ranveer Singh, who impressed cinephiles with his outstanding performance in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial ‘Padmaavat’ (2018), is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s upcoming directorial ‘Simmba’. Also starring newcomer Sara Ali Khan, the cop drama is bankrolled by Dharma Productions’ head honcho Karan Johar in association with Rohit Shetty Pictures. If rumours swirling around are to be believed, after wrapping up ‘Simmba’, Ranveer might work with Karan once again, and the film will be Johar’s next directorial venture. Yes, you heard that right!
According to reports, Johar is all set to helm his next film after ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016), which starred Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. His next is expected to begin rolling at the beginning of 2019. It will be a two-hero movie with Ranveer Singh finalized to play one of the male leads. “The film will be a two-hero film and Karan has already locked Ranveer Singh to play one of the leads. Currently, the casting for the second lead is on and once done, the rest of the details will also fall into place,” a well-placed source reveals to a daily.
After Ranbir Kapoor, it will be interesting to see Ranveer Singh in a Karan Johar directorial. The director is known for making great love stories and we are certainly ready to see Singh in one. We are now waiting for actors who play the second male lead and the female lead in the yet-to-be-announced movie.
Meanwhile, Ranveer has some amazing projects in his hand. ‘Simmba’ is set to release on 28th December, 2018. Then he has ‘Gully Boy’ with Alia Bhatt. The film is almost ready and will release on 14th February, 2019, followed by Kabir Khan’s sports film ‘83’. Singh is also rumoured to be cast for ‘Dhoom 4’, but no official announcement has been made as yet.
