Superstar Sanjay Dutt is joining forces with multi-talented Chunky Pandey once again. The duo has previously worked together on such movies as ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ (1988) and ‘Zahreelay’ (1990) and was last seen in Jyotin Goel’s ‘Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke’ (2013). Dutt has roped in Pandey to play an important role in his home production, ‘Prassthanam’. ‘Prassthanam’ is an official Hindi remake of Telugu political drama of the same name. Deva Katta, who helmed the original movie, is directing its Hindi remake also. The writers have introduced some changes in the Hindi script of the movie so as to cater to a pan-India audience.
Talking about Chunky’s role in ‘Prassthanam’, a source close to the production team reveals to a national daily, “Chunky plays a kingmaker, an influential man used to having his way with everything. The actor recently shot a schedule in Mumbai and will now head to Lucknow for a week-long shoot that kicks off on July 23. He has scenes with Dutt, who plays the lead, his onscreen wife Manisha Koirala, and son Ali Fazal.”
Besides Sanjay Dutt, Manisha Koirala, Ali Fazal and Chunky Pandey, ‘Prassthanam’ also stars Amyra Dastur in an important role. The movie, which sheds light on political systems and the nexus between businessmen and politicians, is being bankrolled by Sanjay Dutt who is set to revive his banner, Sanjay Dutt Productions Pvt Ltd, with it.
Though the makers are yet to lock an official date for its theatrical release, ‘Prassthanam’ is expected to hit screens in the first half of 2019. More details are awaited.
