Varun Dhawan is one of the busiest stars in Bollywood. He has so many projects in his hands at the moment that it leaves him with no time to even read new scripts. Recently, rumours were swirling around that the ‘Badlapur’ (2015) actor was offered a film by his elder brother Rohit Dhawan with whom he worked on the 2016 movie ‘Dishoom’. However, Varun rejected the offer as he does not have time to even think about new projects.
But when Varun was contacted to get more details, he had something totally different to say. He said that he does not have to star in each and every movie that his director brother makes. “No, I am not in my brother’s next film. He’s making it with an entirely different cast. We don’t have to work together in every film. I wasn’t in his first film ‘Desi Boyz’ (2011) either. In fact, I’ve only done one film with him, ‘Dishoom’, and I had a ball. We’ll work together soon, but not on his next film.”
Dhawan, who was last seen in filmmaker Shoojit Sircar’s moderately successful movie ‘October’ (2018), is currently busy with the shoot of Dharma Productions’ big-ticket flick ‘Kalank’, which also features Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in its ensemble cast. Directed by Abhishek Verman, the period movie releases next year on April 19, 2019. Simultaneously he is also shooting for Yash Raj Films’ much-awaited ‘Sui Dhaaga – Make In India’. Co-starring Anushka Sharma, the movie is being helmed by Sharat Katariya of ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ (2015) fame. His next ventures are ‘Rannbhoomi’ with director Shashank Khaitan and a yet-to-be-titled dance movie with Katrina Kaif. Remo D’souza will call the shots for the dance flick.
