Sara Ali Khan, who is all set to make her foray into Bollywood with filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kedarnath’, might work with father Saif Ali Khan in an upcoming movie. According to reports, director Nitin Kakkar, who is known for his award-winning film ‘Filmistan’ (2013), is gearing up to start work on his next, for which he has approached the father-daughter duo of Saif and Sara.
The untitled film is said to be based on a father and her daughter. It will be a slice-of-life movie focusing on the relationship the father and his daughter share with each other. Dishing out some more information on the project, a source tells an English daily, “It’s a comical, but poignant take on the friendship and the equation that exists between a baap and his beti. But it will have a message, too.”
The source goes on to add, “Nitin has also approached Sara Ali Khan for the role of the daughter. This will probably be Saif and Sara’s first film together. Both of them have liked the story and have verbally given their nod. Now, the modalities and the dates need to be sorted out. Sara and Saif were Nitin’s first choices and the makers thought it would make for an interesting casting coup.”
Meanwhile, Sara is shooting for Rohit Shetty’s next ‘Simmba’ opposite Ranveer Singh. The film is being jointly produced by Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar. Saif, on the other hand, has won rave reviews for his exceptional performance in the Netflix original ‘Sacred Games’ (2018) which premiered recently on the streaming media giant. The National Film Awards winning actor will next be seen in ‘Baazaar’ and Navdeep Singh’s untitled movie, produced by Aanand L Rai.
