The Hindi remake of ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ starts rolling in Jamshedpur

Well-known casting director-turned-filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra has started shooting for his much-awaited directorial debut. The movie which he is going to helm is the official remake of hit Hollywood romantic tragedy film ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ (2014). The makers have commenced the shooting first schedule of the film today in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Talking about the star cast of the movie, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ remake is headlined by Sushant Singh Rajput. Actress Sanjana Sanghi, who has previously been seen in brief roles in such movies as ‘Rockstar’ (2011), ‘Hindi Medium’ (2017) and ‘Fukrey Returns’ (2017), has been roped in to play the female lead in the flick.

The first scene of the Fox Star Studios’ movie will be filmed in Jamshedpur today at around 5 pm. It will feature Sanjana and her parents. It will be an indoor scene. “The first shot will be taken with Sanjana, who plays Kizie, and her parents in their home,” director Mukesh says.

Those who have seen Hollywood film ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ or read the novel on which the movie is based, know that it revolves around a 16-year-old cancer patient who goes to attend a support group on the behest of her parents. There she meets and falls in love with another patient who has lost a leg to bone cancer. “The very fact that the story revolves around cancer makes it seem heavy and intense. But we’ve turned it into a beautiful love story which plays out lightly between these two main characters. I’ve tried to keep it as simple as possible which is why we decided on this title that has the ring of a rhyme, like Bunty Aur Babli (2005),” explains Mukesh.

If all goes well, the makers will be releasing the romantic drama in the first half of 2019.
