It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Ranbir Kapoor is the next superstar of the Hindi film industry after Khans and Kumars. His latest film ‘Sanju’, which hit the marquee on 29th June, has been doing phenomenal business ever since its release and has smashed several records within days of entering cinemas. This again proves the fact that the audience has, slowly and steadily, started believing in him and his potential as the next big actor in Bollywood.
After ‘Sanju’, the actor has a number of exciting projects in his hands, and all with big production houses. One of the highly awaited film starring Ranbir is Yash Raj Films’ mega-budgeted docait drama, ‘Shamshera’, which is being helmed by Karan Malhotra and co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor. The makers announced the project a couple of months ago, and now they have revealed its release date. Produced by Aditya Chopra, ‘Shamshera’ will hit the silver screen on 31st July, 2020. The film will mount the shooting floor at the year end, and the makers are planning to wrap it up by mid-2o19.
Before ‘Shamshera’, Ranbir will be seen in Dharma Productions’ ‘Brahmastra’, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy in lead roles. The film is being helmed by Ayan Mukerji, who has previously directed Kapoor in ‘Wake Up Sid’ (2009) and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013). ‘Brahmastra’ releases on August 15, 2019. Kapoor also plays the parallel lead in Luv Ranjan’s next untitled film, which also stars superstar Ajay Devgn in the lead role. That film is also expected to begin rolling this year for a release in 2019.
