Shahid Kapoor’s younger sister Sanah Kapoor, who made her acting debut with Vikas Bahl’s not-s0-successful film ‘Shaandaar’ (2016), is now gearing up to start work on her next project. The actress, who was last seen in ‘Khajoor Pe Atke’ (2018), has been roped in to play the female lead in filmmaker Abhishek Saxena’s upcoming directorial venture, titled ‘Saroj Ka Rishta’. The movie revolves around the culture of body-shaming in India which has become quite common in the age of social media. According to our sources, the Muhurat of the movie will take place on 7th July in Film City, Mumbai, while Sanah will start shooting for the film in August in Ghaziabad and Mawana.
Talking about his new project, director Abhishek Saxena says, “As a fat person, I have noticed that body-shaming doesn’t happen only with those who are on the heavier side, but also with thin people. The idea germinated from there. The film essentially revolves around a father-daughter relationship with Kumud Mishra and Sana at the centre. There is also a love triangle with the two heroes Gaurav Pandey and Randeep Rai.”
Gaurav Pandey, who plays one of the male leads in ‘Saroj Ka Rishta’, is known for his supporting roles in movies such as ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ (2014), ‘A Flying Jatt’ (2016) and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ (2017). Randeep Rai, on the other hand, has become a household name with the success of his ongoing show ‘Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai’ on Sony Entertainment Television.
Sana is quite excited about her new project. “I am looking forward to moulding myself into someone who is from a completely different culture. It’s mysterious and offers great scope for exploration,” she says.
The film hit screens next year.
