Seems like filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh, who is directing Shahid Kapoor in his upcoming film ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is mighty impressed with the actor and has decided to cast him in a new project. The duo is currently working towards wrapping up ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. They will begin work on their second collaboration right after Shahid finishes off two of his upcoming projects – ‘Arjun Reddy’ (2017) remake and Raja Krishna Menon’s untitled sports movie.
Shree Narayan’s next with Kapoor will be a thriller set in UP. “The project will go on the floors sometime next year after Shahid wraps up the shoot of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake and Raja Krishna Menon’s sports film where he plays a boxer. Shree Narayan’s film is a thriller set in Uttar Pradesh and the details of the shoot are currently under works,” a well-placed source reveals.
Singh confirms the development, saying that the untitled movie will be based in the heartland of India, which brings forth a never-seen-before story. “The story is based in the heartland of India. Once the script is ready we will decide when to go on the floors but it will be in 2019 as Shahid has to fulfil all prior commitments as well before starting my film. I can promise that it’s a story no one has attempted before and we are planning it in great detail. Shahid and I are friends now and share a certain comfort level and we luckily found the perfect script,” he says.
The team is currently looking for a suitable female face for the movie.
