Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s name has been attached to a dozen upcoming films lately. Some media outlet reports that after wrapping up Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’, he will join hands with filmmaker Aditya Roy Kapoor for a biopic on the first Indian astronaut to land his foot on the moon, Rakesh Sharma, while others have reported he might team up with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani for ‘Don 3’, the next instalment of the ‘Don’ (2006) franchise. While media is busy associating his name with every second big project of Bollywood, Khan has not confirmed any project as yet.
But if sources are to be believed, Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’ will take some time in getting started, so SRK will start shooting for Rakesh Sharma’s biopic ‘Salute’ first. Reportedly, Khan will start filming for the space odyssey movie from September onwards. ‘Salute’ will be helmed by ad filmmaker Mahesh Mathai for Siddharth Roy Kapur. Mahesh has been working on the script for over two years. SRK will begin filming for the movie in September and shoot for two months straight. “Shah Rukh will begin prep for the film in September and will shoot for two months straight until November-end,” a source close to the development told a tabloid.
In December, SRK will take a month-long break to promote his forthcoming film ‘Zero’, which is slated to arrive in cinemas on December 21. “He will resume shooting in January. The film is expected to release in 2019 and the makers are presently finalising the leading lady,” adds the source.
Talking about the female lead, several names have sprung up in the past, but no one has been announced officially. However, some sources confirm that Kareena Kapoor Khan has been finalized for the female protagonist.
