After the massive success of her recent release ‘Baaghi 2’ (2018), actress Disha Patani is very much in demand. She has been approached for many plum projects in the last couple of months, and the one she has given her nod to is ‘Bharat’. The multi-starrer film is being headlined by Salman Khan with Priyanka Chopra, Tabu and Sunil Grover playing significant parts in it. Disha plays the role of a trapeze artist in the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial, which means she needs to practise a lot to get into the skin of her character. To do the same, she has recently kicked off training with local circus artistes from Mumbai.
To ensure that the actress gets best artists to practise with, director Ali Abbas Zafar is also in the process of getting an international trapeze crew to fly down to India. The international troupe is expected to land in India around July 14-15. Disha will train with them for two weeks in six-hour sessions every day.
“Even though the film spans across decades and ends in the 2000s, Disha’s character won’t age as she is portraying the younger turn of the lot which is set in the 1960s, unlike Salman and Priyanka who will sport five different looks. ‘Bharat’ goes on the floors around 20 July and usually the stunts she is required to perform in the film take years to master, but she is to complete training in less than a month,” a source reveals.
‘Bharat’, which is being bankrolled by Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Bhushan Kumar, is an important film for Disha because it’s the first time when she will share the screen space with a Khan. We are sure she will do full justice to her role. Besides ‘Bharat’, Disha will also be seen in Sundar C’s Telugu magnum opus ‘Sanghamitra’, which is expected to begin rolling in September this year.
