Is Karan Johar unhappy with how his film ‘Drive’ has shaped up?

Filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani, who made his directorial debut with Dharma Productions’ blockbuster comic-caper ‘Dostana’ (2008), has not had a smooth sailing in Bollywood. It’s been a decade since he made his debut as a filmmaker, but the director has not been able to release any other film of his to date. However, when the audience heard about him teaming up with mentor Karan Johar again for a film called ‘Drive’, everyone was ecstatic. Unfortunately, the project faced a lot of delays and soon audiences’ interest in the movie vanished into thin air.

The latest we hear that the Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer has hit a bottleneck once again. According to sources, the movie, which has already faced a series of delays in the past, might be postponed yet again. Why? Reportedly, producer Karan Johar is not happy with the final product and hence certain portions of the movie will be shot again, which will ultimately delay its release further. “Karan has already sent back the film for re-shooting twice. But even after director Tarun Mansukhani re-shot portions of ‘Drive’, Karan was unhappy. At the moment, the future of the film seems uncertain because Karan is not willing to release it the way it has shaped up now,” an entertainment portal writes.

Initially scheduled to release on Holi 2018, the makers had lately pushed the release of the film to September 7. But as things stand today, it seems almost certain that ‘Drive’ will be deferred again.

Meanwhile, Sushant has just wrapped up Abhishek Kapoor’s next movie ‘Kedarnath’, which marks the acting debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan. The actor also plays the lead role in Abhishek Chaubey’s dacoit drama ‘Sonchiriya’. Jacqueline, on the other hand, will reunite with Salman Khan after ‘Race 3’ (2018) for a dance-based film, to be helmed by Remo D’souza. She is also expected to join Khan in ‘Kick 2’, a sequel to their 2014 blockbuster ‘Kick’.
