Salman Khan is one of the most generous superstars that our country has seen over the years. Ever since establishing himself as one of the most sought-after actors in showbiz, he has been helping many people from the industry as well as beyond the realm of Bollywood, and that too, not occasionally but on many occasions. After helping Bobby Deol find his footing again in Bollywood by giving him a prominent role in his recent release ‘Race 3’, Khan is now lending his helping hand to young actor Saqib Saleem who also played an important role in the third instalment of the ‘Race’ (2008) franchise.
According to reports, Salman Khan is keen to sign Saqib to play the main villain in the much-awaited instalment of ‘Dabangg’ (2010). While, of late, a number of names have been doing the rounds for female leads in the two-heroine project, no name has surfaced for the main antagonist. But looks like Saqib can bag it very soon. “Salman is keen to get Saqib onboard to play the main negative character in ‘Dabangg 3’. Casting for the film is underway, and it’s too early to confirm anything yet,” reveals a well-placed source.
The previous two instalments of the franchise had powerful villains to lock horns with Salman Khan’s popular character Chulbul Pandey. While Sonu Sood battled it out with Khan in ‘Dabangg’, Prakash Raj played the negative role with panache in ‘Dabangg 2’ (2012) and won millions of hearts So, it will be interesting to see how Saqib plays the part, if offered.
To be produced by Arbaaz Khan, ‘Dabangg 3’ will be helmed by Prabhu Deva who directed Salman Khan in the 2009 blockbuster, ‘Wanted’. The final script of the movie has been locked recently. And if everything falls into place, ‘Dabangg 3’ might begin its productions in next few months.
