Multi-talented Shruti Haasan, who was last seen in Bollywood in ‘Behen Hogi Teri’ (2017) opposite Rajkummar Rao, is all set to add a new feather to her cap. After impressing the audience with her acting and singing skills, Haasan is now turning producer with an upcoming Tamil film, titled ‘The Mosquito Philosophy’. To be helmed by successful filmmaker Jayprakash Radhakrishnan, the film will be made under the banner of Isidro Media. Along with producing, Shruti will present the movie as well.
“After seeing JP’s last works, including his acclaimed film ‘Lens’ (2017), I knew I’d found the right person to associate with. He has an edgy vision and creatively showcases even the simplest stories. It’s fantastic to work with someone who has the courage to offer new content that challenges conventional thinking,” says Shruti, who is quite excited about the upcoming venture.
Director Radhakrishnan says, “It’s almost surreal when I think of how this happened. One minute, I was talking to Sarikaji (Shruti’s mother) about life in general and this film and next thing I know, Shruti’s production house comes on board to present and produce it. Together we look forward to taking The Mosquito Philosophy forward and share our journey with audiences the world over.”
On Bollywood front, Shruti is currently shooting for Mahesh Manjrekar’s comeback Hindi directorial. The untitled film stars action hero Vidyut Jamwal in the male lead. The movie is expected to hit the silver screen next year. Apart from that, she is also collaborating with father Kamal Haasan on the trilingual adventure film ‘Sabaash Naidu’, which is a spin-off involving one of the characters in the 2008 film ‘Dasavathaaram’.
