In spite of shooting for one project after another, Kangana Ranaut somehow manages to squeeze out time for new projects, if scripts are really appealing and match her taste. The actress, who is currently busy filming Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming production, ‘Mental Hai Kya’ in London, is reportedly contemplating joining forces with her first director once again. Yes, you guessed it right! The ‘Queen’ (2014) star is planning a sequel to her 2007 film ‘Life In A… Metro’, which was helmed by Anurag Basu. Interestingly, Ranaut’s debut vehicle ‘Gangster’ (2006) was also directed by Basu.
Also starring Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Harman Joshi, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Nafisa Ali and Dharmendra in important roles, ‘Life In A… Metro’ was one of the most successful films of 2007, which still finds oodles of audiences on television. The music of the film was chartbuster with many of its songs being popular even today.
Reportedly, Kangana and Anurag both are keen to work on the sequel to the much-loved film. Though the talks are at the initial stage, an announcement could be made soon if things materialize. Ranaut and Basu both are extremely talented creative geniuses, so their coming together after a huge gap of 11 years might pave the way for yet another blockbuster for the duo.
Meanwhile, Kangana has some interesting films on her plate. After wrapping up ‘Mental Hai Kya’, the National award-winning actress will gear up to release her historical saga, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’. Helmed by Krish, the period film is about to enter post-production stage. She is also rumoured to be teaming up with ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ (2017) fame Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari for a film on Kabaddi.
