Kriti Kharbanda, who was last seen in Anshu Trikha’s ‘Veerey Ki Wedding’ (2018), is now gearing up to star in one of her career’s biggest films, ‘Housefull 4’. The actress plays one of the leading ladies in the next instalment of the successful franchise, along with Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde. Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Bobby Deol play the male leads in the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment venture. Though it has yet not been disclosed who she is romancing in the movie, the actress has started preparing for her role in the keenly-awaited comic-caper.
Talking about the movie and how she is preparing for her role in it, Kriti says, “The storyline of ‘Housefull 4’ is set in two eras as it is based on the theme of reincarnation. I am grateful to Sajid Nadiadwala for this opportunity to play two different characters in one film. I am currently watching a lot of videos online to understand comic timing since shooting for a comedy isn’t easy and the ‘Housefull’ (2010) franchise is all about the laughs.”
The actress, who is a popular name down South, is working hard to carve a niche in the Hindi film industry. Before ‘Housefull 4’, she will be seen in ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se’, wherein she is romantically paired opposite Bobby Deol. She plays a Gujarati in the movie. Sharing her experience while playing a Gujarati character, she says, “I play a Gujarati girl in the film, so when I had to start dubbing, we called a Gujarati teacher to get my diction, attitude and pronunciation right. It was a big challenge for a Punjabi like me to grasp the accent without making it sound laboured. Now, I’m looking forward to the audiences’ reaction to it.”
‘Housefull 4’, helmed by Sajid Khan and bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala, is slated for release on 26 October 2019.
