Aishwarya Rai Bachchan denies influencing Abhishek Bachchan against Shonali Bose’s next

Believe it or not, but spreading false rumours is favourite pastime of many people in showbiz. The latest victim of Bollywood rumour mill is gorgeous actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Recently, media was flooded with reports that Abhishek Bachchan, who has been away from the silver screen for almost two years now, is joining hands with ‘Margarita With A Straw’ (2014) fame director Shonali Bose for an upcoming film revolving around a couple and their dying child.

Inspired by the life of Aisha Chaudhary, a girl diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13 who turns a motivational speaker before writing a book ‘My Little Epiphanies’ and breathing her last at the tender age of 18 in 2015, the untitled film was supposed to reunite Junior Bachchan with his ‘Dostana’ (2008) co-star Priyanka Chopra. Actress Zaira Wasim, who rose to fame after playing important characters in ‘Dangal’ (2016) and ‘Secret Superstar’ (2017), was, reportedly, signed to play Aisha whereas Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan were in talks to play the role of her parents.

Now, you must be wondering how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is related to all this! Actually, a leading entertainment channel recently ran a story stating that the former beauty queen does not want her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, to star in the movie. The report further adds that Aish wants Abhishek to play characters like the one he is currently playing in Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film, ‘Manmarziyan’.

However, when Aishwarya heard about these baseless rumours swirling around, she released a statement denying the reports. The statement read, “Aishwarya Rai Bachchan not too keen for Abhishek Bachchan to sign Shonali Bose’s next film has been doing rounds on the internet. To clear the record, Abhishek Bachchan has refused this particular film and it’s a low down tactic to drag Aishwarya’s name in this context.”
