Here’s what John Abraham thinks about clashing with Akshay Kumar on Independence Day

John Abraham, who is riding high on the success of his latest release ‘Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran’, will shortly be seen in a T-Series production, titled ‘Satyameva Jayate’. Directed by writer-director Milap Zaveri, the suspense thriller hits screens on 15th August, on Independence Day. Interestingly, ‘Satyamev Jayate’ is not the only movie gearing up to cash in on the long Independence weekend; Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited sports film ‘Gold’ is also scheduled to arrive on 15th August. We know John and Akshay are good friends who have worked together in successful films such as ‘Garam Masala’ (2005) and ‘Desi Boyz’ (2011). So, when the audience came to know that the duo is going to battle it out with each other on Independence Day, some were a little surprised.

But John, who has been working in movies for more than 15 years now, has no qualms about locking horns with Akshay. When the ‘Madras Cafe’ (2013) actor was recently asked about the approaching clash at the box-office, he reasoned that finalizing a release date is in producers’ hands, not actors’. “Akshay is an actor in Gold and I am an actor in Satyameva Jayate. So that (the release of films) is a producer decision, between Excel Entertainment and T Series. Akshay is my senior; I love him and have always wished the best for him. I am sure he will also want the same for me,” he said.

The success of John Abraham’s ‘Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran’ has brought the actor back in the reckoning. His line-up of upcoming films looks quite interesting with movies like ‘Satyamev Jayate’, ‘RAW’ and action franchise ‘Attack’ in the making.
