After the stupendous success of her comeback film ‘Veere Di Wedding’ (2018) at the box-office, ultimate Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan is flooded with a lot of movie offers. However, she has made it very clear that she won’t be taking up more than one project a year because she wants to spend more time with her bundle of joy, Taimur Ali Khan, who is just 18 months old now.
If you remember, before the release of ‘Veere Di Wedding’, there were reports that Kareena was approached to play the female lead in the Hindi remake of Marathi film, ‘Aapla Manus’. One of the biggest hits of 2018, ‘Aapla Manus’ was produced by Ajay Devgn while its Hindi remake rights have been acquired by Ashutosh Gowariker. But if latest reports are to be believed, Kareena has bowed out of the project to star in Dharma Productions next which also features Akshay Kumar in the lead role. After the actress put her papers down, the makers approached Sonakshi Sinha who, we hear, may sign the film on the dotted line soon.
Revealing more details, a source close to the development informs, “The modalities didn’t work out and Kareena is already committed to Raj Mehta’s next, with Akshay Kumar. So she also didn’t have the dates. So, now, the film’s makers are looking to cast Sonakshi Sinha for that role. Their talks with the actress are in the advanced stages and in all probability, things will be worked out and she will sign up for it.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s next with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is being touted as a relationship drama wherein the actress plays the character of a wife who is expecting her first baby through surrogacy. Besides Kareena and Akshay, the film will also have a parallel lead pair. Recently, there were reports that the untitled film might star Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar as the second lead pair. However, no official announcement has been made regarding the same.
