One of the biggest names on Indian television, Mouni Roy is gearing up to take a dive in Bollywood. The actress, who shot to fame after headlining Ekta Kapoor’s highly successful supernatural series ‘Naagin’, makes her full-fledged Bollywood debut with Reema Kagti’s upcoming sports biopic, ‘Gold’, wherein she is paired opposite superstar Akshay Kumar. After ‘Gold’, Roy will be seen in Dharma Productions’ big-ticket ‘Brahmastra’, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. And now, we hear that the gorgeous actress has bagged her third Bollywood project, a film with action star John Abraham.
After the rapturous success of his recent release ‘Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran’ (2018), which has garnered over Rs. 50 crores, John Abraham is gearing up to commence the first shooting schedule of his next film, ‘RAW’, an acronym that stands for ‘Romeo, Akbar and Walter’. Mouni is said to be joining the cast as the female lead opposite Abraham. Though no official confirmation has been made about her entry in the project, insiders confirm that the actress has indeed bagged the lead part.
The spy thriller film is being made on a huge scale, with John sporting around eight looks in it. The actor’s character in the movie spans from a 26-year-old to an 85-year old. John is working hard to get into the skin of his character. Earlier, the same role was offered to ‘Raabta’ (2017) star Sushant Singh Rajput who later walked out of it citing constant delays in production.
To be helmed by filmmaker Robbie Grewal, ‘RAW’ will be shot across cities in Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir and Nepal. The movie is expected to hit the silver screen in the first half of 2019.
