Kangna set to play a Kabaddi player in her next?

Last seen in Hansal Mehta’s heist comedy-drama ‘Simran’ (2017), Kangana Ranaut is currently busy with her period film, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’ which stars her in the role of great freedom fighter, Rani Laxmibai. Besides ‘Manikarnika’, she is also shooting for Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Mental Hai Kya’ in London. Of late, there have been reports that the National award-winning actress is also teaming up with ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ (2017) director, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, for an untitled movie. The latest update on the project is that Ranaut might play the role of a Kabaddi player in the movie.

“Kangana’s ‘Mental Hai Kya’ wraps up on July 11. She will immediately fly back to Mumbai and complete some patchwork of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. She has to devote two days to a brand shoot. But, for the most part of August, she and Ashwini will be busy doing workshops for the Kabaddi film,” informs a well-placed source to a leading tabloid.

Another source reveals that Ashwini Iyer Tiwari is currently looking for a coach who could train Kangana Ranaut in the game. Before her training begins, Kangana has herself started practising Yoga to be able to master holding breath which is a pre-requisite of the game.

If all goes well, the yet-to-be-titled film will mount the shooting floor in the month of October. The makers are planning to wrap it up by December.

Meanwhile, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari is also doing a film with ‘Raazi’ (2018) star, Alia Bhatt. To be produced by Phantom Films, the movie begins production in mid-2019.
