Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ to hit screens in China as ‘Toilet Hero’

    After having an impressive run at the domestic box-office, Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s social drama movie, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ (2017) is now all set to have its Chinese release. Yes, the Shree Narayan Singh directorial, which had raked in over Rs. 100 crores upon its release in India, will now entertain the audience in the neighbouring country as the superhit film rolls into Chinese cinemas on June 8, 2018, under the new title, ‘Toilet Hero’.

    Superstar Akshay Kumar, who played a man who goes all out to make toilets in his village in the movie, shared the Chinese-version poster of the film on Twitter and wrote, “Delighted that our film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is continuing to break new grounds and is all set to release as “Toilet Hero” across 4300 screens in China on 8th June.”

    Reliance Entertainment, led by one of the leading business tycoons, Anil Ambani, is releasing the film in China which has emerged as one of the biggest markets for Hindi movies in the past few years. As tweeted by Akshay, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has been alloted 4300 screens across the country. It is 50 percent higher screen count if we compare it to its original release in India. Reliance Entertainment, which had last released Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’ (2009) in China, returns to the market after a gap of 7 years.

    “We are very proud to release ‘Toilet Hero’ in China this week, and expect the film to strike an emotional chord with audiences there, just as the film delighted Indian audiences,” said Shibasish Sarkar of Reliance Entertainment.
