Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who enjoys the reputation of being a serial kisser, is set to romance South Indian actress Vedhika Kumar in his next movie, which will be helmed by well-known Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph. Just like Joseph, Vedhika will also make her Bollywood debut with the untitled film, which is said to be the Hindi remake of the 2012 Spanish crime thriller movie, The Body.
Bagging a mainstream Bollywood film is always a dream come true for many actresses, and Vedhika, who has appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films, feels the same. “I’m so glad I waited for the right project to come my way. I’m excited and thankful,” says excited Vedhika.
Director Jeethu reveals that his team finalized Vedhika after conducting a nationwide hunt and a series of auditions. “The character is of a young college-going girl with some innocence about her. She fits the role beautifully. Her pairing with Emraan will be fresh and one to watch out for,” the director adds.
Besides Vedhika, the film also stars ‘Kaalakaandi’ (2018), actress Sobhita Dhulipala in a pivotal role. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who has just impressed everyone with his endearing performance in Umesh Shukla’s ‘102 Not Out’ (2018), also plays a significant role in Jeethu Joseph’s film.
The film has already gone on floors in Mumbai. Apart from Mumbai, it will also be shot in Mauritius. The team is expected to leave for Mauritius next week where they will shoot an extended schedule. The movie may release by the end of 2018 or early 2019.
