After the unexpected and sad demise of wife Sridevi on 24th February 2018, life has been quite tumultuous for Boney Kapoor. The filmmaker, whose whole life revolved around his family, is trying to come terms with this irreplaceable loss of his life with all his might. He wants to immerse himself completely in work. Recently, Boney registered three titles to make a film on seasoned actress Sridevi. There are also reports that he is planning to set up a museum in her memory. The latest we hear that he has decided to re-collaborate with his son, Arjun Kapoor, on a new film project.
Arjun has worked in his father’s home production ‘Tevar’, which hit screens in 2015. Also starring Sonakshi Sinha and Manoj Bajpayee, the Amit Ravindernath Sharma directorial did not perform as per expectations. Boney Kapoor has now, reportedly, bought the rights of a South Indian film and is keen to rope in son Arjun Kapoor to topline the Hindi remake. While there has been no official confirmation whether or not the deal is locked, some reports suggest that Junior Kapoor in onboard.
Plot and casting details are being kept secret, but what we hear from some sources is that the yet-to-be-titled film will be an action entertainer with a perfect blend of comedy in it. Arjun Kapoor has proved his mettle in both genres – action and comedy, so we know he will do full justice to his dad’s project.
Talking about Junior Kapoor’s upcoming projects, the actor will next be seen in Vipul Shah’s directorial ‘Namaste England’, which is a sequel to Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif’s ‘Namastey London’ (2007). Kapoor follows it up with Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’. The actor has also signed Ashutosh Gowariker’s magnum opus ‘Panipat’ and Raj Kumar Gupta’s suspense thriller ‘India’s Most Wanted’.
