T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar has come to the rescue of upcoming films ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ and ‘Fanne Khan’, after KriArj Entertainment, spearheaded by Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor, decided to bow out over a series of unresolved issues including payment. The Shree Narayan Singh directed social-drama ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, which mounted the shooting floor in the month of February this year, came to a halt recently over non-payment issues. However, after Bhushan Kumar took over the film from KriArj Entertainment, the makers resume shooting from today in Mumbai. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in lead roles.
A source close to the development reveals, “The modalities have been worked out and the remaining remuneration of the actors will be paid. Bhushan has all the rights now and will be taking the film forward.”
When producer Bhushan Kumar was contacted for a confirmation, he confirmed the news. “Yes, I’m the sole producer on ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, Shree Narayan along with his partner Nitin Chandrachud are the stakeholders. Prernaa is also no longer a part of ‘Fanne Khan’ because of all the trouble happening around her. She wants to solve all these problems first before she gets back to making movies. I will now be producing both these films with my partners on it,” said the producer.
According to the source, ‘Faane Khan’ is almost complete with only one song left to be shot. The makers are planning to shoot the song in the first week of June. “There’s only one song left to be shot in ‘Fanne Khan’ which will be filmed in the first week of June,” adds the source.
Musical drama ‘Fanne Khan’ stars Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. Co-produced by filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film is being helmed by Atul Manjrekar.
