Sooraj Pancholi dropped out of the race to star in ‘Prasthanam’ Hindi remake

A couple of weeks ago, rumours were rife in B-town that newcomer Sooraj Pancholi, who made his acting debut with Salman Khan’s production ‘Hero’ (2015), was in the race to bag a pivotal part in the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘Prasthanam’ (2010) alongside superstar Sanjay Dutt. However, if latest reports are to be believed, the actor is no longer in the running to star in the much-awaited project.

The untitled project, which will be helmed by Deva Katta, was supposed to star Sanjay Dutt and Sooraj Pancholi as a father-son duo. However, we hear that there has been some major change in the casting of the film and Pancholi is out of the race. “The makers were eager to have Sanjay and Sooraj play the role of father and son in the film. Now, there has been a change in casting and Sooraj is no longer part of this project. The makers are looking for some other actor to play Sanjay’s son in the film,” a well-placed source revealed to a National daily.

Meanwhile, Sooraj is currently busy with the preparations of his upcoming film, ‘Time To Dance’. To be helmed by debutant Stanley D’costa, the dance-based film stars Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabella Kaif as the female lead. While ‘Time To Dance’ will be Sooraj Pancholi’s second outing since he debuted with ‘Hero’ in 2015, it marks the mainstream acting debut of Kaif in Bollywood.

The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and is expected to go to the sets soon in London for around a 50 days long start-to-finish schedule.
