If you were planning to watch the forthcoming stoner comedy film ‘High Jack’ in cinemas on 11th May, you will have to push your plan a little further as the movie will now release on 18th May instead of its previous release date. Though the makers have not given any reason behind postponing their film at the last moment, grapevine has it that the decision has been taken to avoid a clash with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s biggie ‘Raazi’ which releases on 11th May nationwide.
Interestingly, this is not the first time when ‘High Jack’ has been postponed. The film was earlier scheduled to enter cinemas on 4th April. However, the makers had to defer the film to 11th May owing to procedural delay in attaining the censor certificate from CBFC. Now, the film has been pushed further yet again.
‘High Jack’ revolves around novice hijackers who have devised a plan to highjack a plane. However, their plan goes for a toss when they, along with the passengers traveling in the plane, get high, leading to a slew of screamingly funny and crazy events.
Starring an ensemble star cast of Sumeet Vyas, Sonnalli Sehgal, Mantra, Kumud Mishra, Sarthak Kakar, Priyanshu Painyuli, Radhika Bangia and Adhaar Khurana, ‘High Jack’ has been directed by Akarsh Khurana.
The film is co-produced by Phantom Films in association with the leading international OTT Video Service provider Viu. The movie marks the entry of Viu into films.
